Kanuni ya kwanza · do not repeat the payment
The first rule is the one that saves money: do not send the deposit a second time because the first one has not appeared. A mobile money transfer that left the wallet exists somewhere, and a second one creates a second transaction to reconcile rather than fixing the first.
Most failed-looking deposits are in one of three places: still in the mobile money network, held in the operator's own pending queue, or sent with details that do not match the account. Each has a different fix, and none of them is a repeat payment.
Give it a few minutes before concluding anything. Mobile money settlement is usually quick but not instant, and a queue at the network level looks identical to a failure from where you are standing.
Sababu za kawaida · where it usually stops
These are the causes that account for most cases, in the order worth checking.
| Cause | What you see | Where to fix it |
|---|---|---|
| Jina halilingani — name mismatch | Money gone, nothing credited | Operator support, with the wallet statement |
| Wrong reference or paybill detail | Wallet confirms, balance does not | Operator support, quoting the transaction ID |
| Network settlement delay | Pending on both sides | Wait, then the mobile money provider |
| Below the minimum or above the limit | Rejected or reversed | The live limits on the cashier screen |
| Account not yet verified | Deposit held | Finish verification, then re-check |
| Wallet balance or daily cap reached | Transfer declined at source | The mobile money provider |
The single most common of these is the first. A wallet registered to someone else — a relative, a friend, an agent — is the classic way a deposit disappears into a manual review queue, and it is also the classic way a later withdrawal gets held.
Open the live account page and check the transaction history before repeating anything.
Kukusanya ushahidi · what to collect first
Before you contact anyone, spend two minutes assembling the file. A support request with these five items gets answered; one without them gets a form reply.
- The mobile money transaction ID, exactly as the SMS shows it
- The amount in TZS and the time of the transfer
- The wallet number used and the name it is registered to
- Your account username or registered phone number on the betting side
- A screenshot of the confirmation message, uncropped, with the time visible
Keep the SMS itself. A screenshot is useful for a chat window, but the original message in the phone is what a provider will ask for if the case goes to them.
Nani wa kuuliza · which side to ask
Work out who is holding the money before you ask, because asking the wrong side costs a day. If the wallet shows the transfer completed and the betting balance shows nothing, the money has left the network and the question belongs to the operator. If the wallet shows the transfer pending or reversed, it never left, and the question belongs to the mobile money provider.
When you write to the operator, ask three specific things: whether the transaction ID appears on their side, which check is running if it does, and when that check is expected to clear. Ask for a case number in the same message and keep it.
Published turnaround times, limits and fees are live account data and change without notice, so this page does not quote any. Read them on the cashier screen the day you need them.
Confirm the wallet name, live limit and transaction reference before sending money.
Ishara ya hatari · the request that means stop
One request is never legitimate: a demand that you send more money — a fee, an unlocking charge, a transfer to a personal number — before a deposit can be credited or a balance released. No licensed operator works that way.
If that arrives, stop the conversation, send nothing, and check how it reached you. Messages from people claiming to act for a betting site, or for us, are a known pattern in Tanzania, and so is the follow-up offer to recover the lost money for an advance.
Keep contact to the channels published inside the account, and match the registered company name against the public list of licensed operators before depositing anywhere. If a deposit problem turns into a withdrawal problem, the withdrawal pending guide covers the next steps.
Quick answers · maswali
My deposit left the wallet but the balance did not change. What now?
Wait a few minutes, then check the transaction history on the account. Do not send it again. Collect the transaction ID, amount, time and wallet number, then ask the side that shows the money as completed.
Can I deposit from someone else's mobile money wallet?
It is the most common reason a deposit lands in manual review and a later withdrawal is held. Use a wallet registered in your own name and matching your account details.
Should I repeat the payment if nothing arrives?
No. A repeat creates a second transaction to reconcile instead of resolving the first, and both may then sit in a queue.
Someone asked me to pay a fee to release my deposit. Is that normal?
No. No legitimate deposit or payout requires a new payment, an unlocking fee or a transfer to a personal number. Stop, send nothing, and report the message.
